We have worked on a number of repairs to historic buildings including brickwork, timber, stonework, lead and metal roofing and underpinning.
We carry the coveted architects accreditation in building conservation (AABC) which gives us licence to work on Grade 1 listed structures that include English Heritage involvement.
For these repairs, we adopt the strict conservation philosophy of ‘like for like’ replacement through minimum intervention. Where required this includes the removal of former inappropriate modern repairs.
“During the past 10 years we have received the benefit of excellent advice from Atelier Architecture and Design. Our Church is a Grade 1 listed building and numerous projects have been undertaken in this period, including a complete re-roofing of the Church. Drawings and specifications have been supplied to a tight time-scale of a high standard, with the advantage of professional, friendly support.”
